ST. GEORGE — National park officials reported a wildfire in the Hop Valley area of Zion National Park on Wednesday evening that has led to the closure of Hop Valley Trail.

Approximately 1,500 people have reported the fire that is estimated to be between 3-5 acres in size, according to a news release from the National Park Service.

Wildland firefighters from the National Park Service and partners are actively addressing the flames, park officials wrote.

The Kolob Terrace road remains open and reportedly has not been affected by the fire.

This is a developing story.
