The Southern Utah Art Guild and the Arrowhead Gallery’s featured artist for September is Gayla Prince Wallace. Gayla grew up learning the basics of design and exquisite detail from her childhood observations in the woodlands of Holladay, Utah. Filled with wonder over the dazzling seasons of nature and the simple country life, her passion for art began. As adept with a pencil as she is with a brush (she has authored scores of scripts for stage and screen), Gayla’s drawing and oil paintings reveal her superb sense of composition and beauty.
Majoring in art at BYU and studying privately with several gifted and highly skilled masters, Gayla’s talents soon developed into an amazing dual ability. She not only captures on canvas an interesting and unique idea, but skillfully weaves into the visual an equally profound and fascinating story. Inspired by the wonders of nature and mankind, Gayla’s original art is varied and yet harmonious, like the colors of the rainbow.
Come to Arrowhead Gallery and support local southern Utah artists. A piece of artwork is a great way to add beauty to your home or office.
The Southern Utah Art Guild offers many opportunities to the artist, such as free art classes and workshops, free vendor events, the opportunity to participate in many of the Red Cliff Gallery art shows, and the opportunity to be a permanent artist in the Arrowhead Gallery.
