The Southern Utah Heritage Choir welcomes the community to its annual Fall Concert, “Songs of Faith,” at the historic St. George Tabernacle on Friday, October 11th at 7 PM, with a matinee on Saturday, October 12th at 2 PM. Admission is free, and seating is open. This is a wonderful opportunity for families, friends, and music lovers to experience an uplifting and spiritually enriching performance by the “choral gem of Southern Utah.”
Under the masterful direction of Dr. Ken Peterson, with Karen Kennedy organist and Jennifer Redfearn pianist, the choir will present a unique selection of sacred choral music. This year’s concert will fill hearts and renew spirits with a stirring repertoire. The program begins with the triumphant “Gloria Fanfare” and features beloved classics such as “How Great Thou Art” and “How Firm a Foundation.” Whether you’re a fan of timeless hymns or new choral masterpieces, the music will resonate deeply with all who attend.
The “Songs of Faith” concert serves as a special launch for the choir’s upcoming Tabernacle Tour, where they will share their voices in the historic tabernacles of Logan, Brigham City, Ogden, and Manti. The tour continues the choir’s rich tradition of sharing music across America and the world. Since 1997, the Southern Utah Heritage Choir has performed in various locations as diverse as the Yucatan Peninsula, the Czech Republic, Armenia, England, Scotland, Washington D.C., China, Ireland, European countries, and Italy.
With more than three decades of inspiring performances, the Southern Utah Heritage Choir is a “treasured jewel” of Southern Utah’s cultural heritage. The choir extends a hearty invitation to all to experience this celebration of faith through music. They will fill the hall with music and faith during this unforgettable concert, “Songs of Faith.”
The Heritage Choir’s 2024-25 season of concerts will be held at the St. George Tabernacle while the choir’s future home, the ‘America First Performing Arts Center’ (formerly known as the Cox Auditorium,) undergoes an extensive remodeling project. The choir’s highly anticipated Christmas Concerts will be December 15th and 22nd. Soprano Tennile Coello will be the guest soloist for “The “Night of All Nights” on December 15th, then the annual Christmas singalong on December 22nd.
